Authentic Lebanese and Italian Cuisine
Formally known as Carmello's Italian Restaurant, the Embassy Grill combines authentic Lebanese and Italian cuisine in one superb restaurant. Even though the Embassy Grill has only been open since January of 2009, their homemade traditional Lebanese cuisine has been around since owner Rick Badawi's parents came to Lansing from Lebanon many years ago. They incorperated the Italian cuisine when the family took over for the former Carmello's. With two enticing flavors from across the world, the Embassy Grill uses their experience to satisfy your cravings.
Since January, many people have been finding their way to the family owned restaurant, even though it isn't so easy to find. So how do they promote? "Our biggest promotion is our cliental that have been here, and that's a word of mouth promotion," says Badawi. People have even traveled from Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Battle Creek, and the Detroit Metro area to get a taste of what The Embassy Grill is cooking up. What is even more impressive according to Badawi is that: "People will come in here, and the people that have known my mom and dad for 20,30,40,50 years, know how they treat people, know how they serve to people, know how they feed people; and they come here, and they spread that out." At the Embassy Grill, one can expect high quality food with big portions. "People rave about our food, people love it. They come in here and they don't leave hungry anymore. "Our pizza's have been known to be number two, next to one other pizza in this town. Some people say we're even number one in this town for the pizza," says owner Rick Badawi. Not only does the Embassy Grill's pizza rank at the top of the charts,their Lebanese fare is considered top notch as well. "Our Lebanese food is phenominal, it's ranked the best," comments Badawi. The Embassy Grill has also made some changes to the appearance of the restaurant; such as adding a bar. The bar at the Embassy Grill is "not only for a sports atmosphere," describes Badawi,"but for a kick-backed relaxed atmosphere, to enjoy a cocktail as you are eating a couple of hors d'oeuvres, as you are enjoying what's in front of you, as you are entertaining people." Even with the downturn of the economy, the Embassy Grill is still holding strong. So what's their recipe for success? Owner Rick Badawi says it's: "quality and service. "People that come in are supporting local, family businesses, and that is what Lansing needs," explains Badawi. "We are holding our feet, we're staying steady, and we're increasing our business everyday."
